Trick or Treat

Halloween is coming, and we need to be ready. I understand that most of the television shows about Halloween are about simple childish ghost and goblins. even though this might be true, there has also been a disturbing trend of late on our televisions and in our communities. What has slowly began to happen is that the demon world is becoming commercialized. We buy mask that portray grotesque monsters of the demon world, we decorate our houses with witches and zombies. Even the children's shows begin to venture into the under world. Disney makes witches cool and warlocks appealing, the cartoon networks are filled with shows about demons and goblins. The normal T.V. schedule is replaced by blood and terror. We watch folks being slaughtered and demons running wild. We struggle even in our harvest festivals as folks come in some of the scariest costumes around. I am afraid that we have turned our eyes from a very dangerous trend just because its a Holiday. Please understand, I love to go trick or treating. I love to dress my kids up and, I love to see the smiles on their faces when the candy is given to them. Folks can't we find something decent to dress up as, can't we glorify God even in a time such as this. Please be careful that we dress appropriate this Halloween, that we don't revel in the world of witches, demons and goblins.
